NanoString (a Bruker Company)

NanoString (a Bruker Company)

NanoString nCounter

The NanoString nCounter is a novel digital read-out technology designed for multiplexed measurement of nucleic acids with high levels of precision and sensitivity using fluorescent color-coded barcode probes. The probes hybridize to approximately 100 bases, and can be multiplexed to detect up to 800 different targets in a single reaction. Pre-built CodeSets are available, as well as custom CodeSets.

The technology uses molecular "barcodes" and single molecule imaging to detect and count hundreds of unique transcripts in a single reaction at high sensitivity (< 1 copy per cell). Starting with 50 - 100ng total RNA, no enzymatic processing steps are required for gene expression analysis.

Some of the main features of this platform are:

  1. Able to analyze RNA samples of poor quality (such as FFPE samples)
  2. Up to 800 transcripts can be interrogated in a single assay using 50ng-100ng total RNA
  3. No cDNA conversion or amplification are required of target RNA
  4. Very high dynamic range; sensitivity and reproducibility of the system exceed those of RT-qPCR
  5. Able to detect RNA, miRNA, DNA and protein in a variety of different sample types, including: Tissue (fresh, frozen, FFPE-derived total RNA), Crude Cell & Tissue lysates, Whole Blood and other Biological Fluids, Total RNA and Genomic DNA

For additional information and other product information, please visit the NanoString nCounter website.

QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System

QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System

QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System

The all-in-one qPCR instrument
Combining flexible throughput capabilities with a streamlined workflow, the Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio™ 12K Flex system takes you from targeted discovery through confirmation and screening, all on a single platform.

Maximize throughput with minimal resources.
Increase your throughput by as much as 32-fold by running 4 Applied Biosystems™ OpenArray™ plates in a single run on the Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio™ 12K Flex system. It's the equivalent of 32 traditional 384-well qPCR plates or 12,000 data points

Push your throughput even more.
When equipped with the OpenArray block, a single 9700 thermal cycler and the QuantStudio 12K Flex Applied Biosystems™ OpenArray™ AccuFill™ System, the QuantStudio 12K Flex system can produce up to 110,000 data points or more in an eight-hour day.

Reduce start up time and hands on time.
Start a 12,000 data point experiment typically in 20 minutes or less.

As you scale your experiments and move up in throughput, be assured that Applied Biosystems™ TaqMan™ Assay sensitivity, specificity, and wide dynamic range are optimized across all QuantStudio 12K Flex system block formats.

Four interchangeable blocks.
Choose and load the thermal-cycling block you need for the experiment at hand (OpenArray plate, TaqMan Array Card, 384-well, and Fast 96-well).

Genomics Laboratory provides a wide array of solutions for nucleic acid quantification and quality analysis which includes the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system, Invitrogen Qubit 3 & 4, NanoDrop 2000, and NanoDrop One. These services are used to screen RNA, DNA, and proteins prior to any downstream applications for genomics. Researchers may order these services as a stand-alone assay, but some of our services automatically include these sample quality assays in the pricing. Product descriptions are found below.

The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system

Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system

The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system is an established automated electrophoresis solution for the sample quality control of biomolecules. The system integrates an instrument, data processing software, reagents, and a microfluidic chip specific for DNA, RNA, or protein analysis. It is suitable for next-generation sequencing (NGS), gene expression, biopharmaceutical, and genome editing workflows, delivering highly precise analytical evaluation of various sample types. Advantages of microfluidics-based automated electrophoresis over traditional gel electrophoresis include dramatically reduced sample (1 µL for nucleic acids, 4 µL for proteins) and reagent consumption, significantly faster analysis time, and less hands-on activities during sample preparation and data analysis. The Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer system is ideal for the scientist requiring nucleic acids and protein electrophoresis analysis with moderately low throughput (10-12 samples) needs.
